The O'Quinn Marine Story

Back in 1970, O'Quinn Marine Construction company was founded on the priniciple of measure twice, cut once. Our success in the marine construction business began with work ethic, pride, and strict customer service guidelines. Now, four generations of the O'Quinn family and some great employees have created a working culture that continues to uphold our family values.
Our team
Our team consists of highly qualified and motivated professionals, who are all experts in their field. With many years of experience in the industry, they have the expertise to provide comprehensive, first-rate services to our clients.
Duncan O'Quinn
President & Owner
Duncan joined his father in business over 40 years ago as the 3rd generation of O'Quinn in the company. The O'Quinn's have built the company on the philosophy of "measure twice, cut once." Duncan has an unlimited General Contractor's license, a Marine Contractor's license and a Captain's license.
Angler O'Quinn
The Boss
Angler is the loyal boss of the company. He sits in on every meeting both in the office and at on-site locations. He enjoys both truck and boat rides. His main role in the company prevent anyone from sneaking up on Duncan!
Robbie O'Quinn
Vice President
Robbie is a 4th generation of O'Quinn in the company. He was born and raised in Beaufort. He graduated with a degree in Marine Science from Coastal Carolina University. He worked with SCDNR and Beaufort county in the Environmental Research Department. Robbie joined the family business as a barge foreman in 2016 and continues supervising our largest barge crew and assisting other company projects.
Joseph Vido
Mechanic & Foreman
Joseph is one of the 4th generation members in the O’Quinn Marine Construction family. He grew up helping “Pawpaw” & Uncle Duncan on the barges during his summer vacations. Joseph left Beaufort for the Nashville Auto Diesel College in 2008 and graduated in 2010 with a specialization in Automotive and Diesel Maintenance. After working for a “Mom and Pop” automotive shop in Nashville for 10 years he moved back to Beaufort in 2019 to officially start working for the family business. He maintains all the heavy equipment to keep the company moving forward. Joseph can also be found operating a crane, running the barge, or driving piling.
J. W. Weatherford
General Manager
J. W. is our most recent addition and came to O'Quinn Marine in 2023 with over 15 years experience in business management and leadership roles. He assists in managing all aspects of the company. He also assists our customers with the site assessment, project scoping, contracts, and customer communications.
Nancy Lucas
Permit Coordinator
Nancy is a lifelong Beaufort resident and often the first voice you hear when calling O'Quinn Marine. Nancy has been with the company since 2005 and has a wealth of knowledge to help our clients secure permits including critical area permits through the Bureau of Coastal Management, Beaufort County and the various Architectural Review Boards and Homeowners Association approvals. Nancy has an Associate degree in Public Service Technology.
Dawn Wiggins
Office Administrator
Dawn is responsible for invoicing, collections and accounting for the company. Dawn is experienced with bookkeeping, human resources and construction retail.
